Amarillo High Graduate — Senior Portrait Session

Class of 2026 is something special. Last week I spent an evening with an Amarillo High senior, and the whole drive home I kept thinking about why senior sessions are some of my favorite work I do.

There's a window — a short one — right at the end of high school where a person is standing exactly between who they were and who they're about to become. You can see it in their face. Equal parts nerves and certainty. A senior portrait done right catches that window, and no other photo in their life will ever look quite like it again.

This session

We started with the classic looks — the ones grandma is going to frame — and then we loosened up. Letter jacket. The truck. A spot near the school that's been "their place" for four years. By the end of golden hour we had images that were unmistakably them: confident, a little mischievous, ready.

For the parents reading this

I know what these photos mean to you. You blinked and the kid in the kindergarten picture on your fridge is filling out college applications. My promise is simple: we'll get the portrait that goes on the announcement, and we'll also get the one that catches the kid you've known all along.
