Wedding Season Preview 2026
February 10, 2026 · 2 min read

2026 is shaping up to be an incredible wedding season, and my calendar is already telling a story I love: couples are done with cookie-cutter.
What's on the books
This year's lineup runs from a ranch ceremony under a hundred-year-old cottonwood, to an intimate canyon-rim elopement at sunset, to a classic church wedding with a barn reception that'll go until the small hours. Different venues, different budgets, different styles — same thread through all of them: these couples chose places that mean something to them.
What I'm seeing in 2026 weddings
Golden-hour ceremonies keep winning, and as the person responsible for your photos, I endorse this completely. First looks are now the norm rather than the exception — they settle the nerves and give us unhurried portrait time. And couples are trimming the formal shot list in favor of coverage that feels like the day actually felt: documentary, candid, real.
How I shoot a wedding
Prepared like it's an operation, present like a guest who happens to have a camera. I scout every venue in advance, build a timeline with you so the light works in our favor, and then on the day I disappear into the celebration and catch it as it happens. You've got one shot at these moments. I treat them that way.
A few 2026 dates are still open, and fall is filling now. If you're newly engaged — congratulations — let's talk before your date is gone.
